New condition, all overhauled and original parts replaced! by a professional who only deals with professional equipment!

Warm sound, no aggressiveness, ... almost tube-like (yes, I'm exaggerating a bit ;-))

It's pure class A!!!

I used it with a €300 High Resolution DAC (SMSL D6) on XLR output, entering on one of the amp's XLR inputs, and it was... wow... you can listen to it if you like.

I listen to everything but classical. Rock, jazz, ethnic, hardcore, ...

It has just been 100% serviced by Hereman in Waterloo! Invoice 650 €. Has only been played ± 6 hours since repair.

The twin brother of its predecessor, the ECI 3, the ECI 4 is a handsome beast weighing in at a reasonable 16 kg. From an aesthetic point of view, it's very clean and easy to read. The superb, one-centimeter-thick polymethyl methacrylate front panel is attached to the chassis by four gold-plated screws. Only four buttons, called "Navigators" on the right-hand side, are needed to operate the device. Two control volume and two access the source. Another button, centered on the front panel, is used to switch on the power, while on the left, a blue backlit display indicates the source currently playing.
On the rear of the unit, there are six inputs: four unbalanced (Tape, DVD, VCR, HT) and two balanced (CD and Tuner), one balanced and one unbalanced preamp output, plus a Rec output for recording.
There are a few particularities to note. First, the HT input bypasses the preamplifier stage. This allows the ECI 4 to be used as a power stage. Secondly, a selector switch allows the gain of the preamplifier stage to be increased by 9 dB, which may be useful in the case of a low-level source. Finally, the unbalanced inputs are balanced, as the device's internal circuitry is so configured.
Listening to the ECI 4 is a pleasure and a pleasure to listen to, for listeners who are demanding in terms of timbre quality and sonic relief. It seems particularly well suited to orchestral or jazz music, music that's rather "clear" and "airy". The ease with which it places notes in space makes it very pleasant and comfortable to use. It's an amplifier you can listen to for a long time without feeling tired.
