The use of an independent DAC for the left and right channels enables Shanling M3X to process the signals separately, for more precise decoding. The result is better channel separation, optimized dynamic range and more faithful listening. Each DAC also benefits from a low-noise KDS crystal oscillator and filtering by a FGPA chip incorporating an algorithm specifically developed by Shanling. This limits jitter and once again maximizes conversion accuracy. Thanks to this package, the Shanling M3X portable player is able to handle PCM streams up to 32 bits / 384 kHz from a vast choice of files: FLAC, WMA, AIFF, ALAC, MAV, OGG. DSD files up to DSD 256 and MQA are also supported.
Each ESS Sabre ES9219C chip in the Shanling M3X Walkman also acts as an amplifier, reducing the signal path to an absolute minimum. The implementation of dual amplification optimizes the signal-to-noise ratio for purer, more natural listening. At the output of these amplifiers, the Shanling M3X audiophile walkman has two headphone outputs: an unbalanced 3.5 mm output and a balanced 4.4 mm output. Power is rated at 101 mW at 32 ohms on the unbalanced output, and 240 mW at 32 ohms on the balanced output. Enough to power low-impedance headphones without difficulty.
The Shanling M3X audiophile player is equipped with a WiFi controller, so you can easily transfer your music wirelessly, or play music stored on your local network using DLNA. What's more, the Shanling M3X HD player's built-in Android operating system gives you access to a host of online music services, including Qobuz, Tidal, Deezer and Spotify. Naturally, Qobuz supports Hi-Res music up to 24 bit / 196 kHz, while Tidal supports MQA files.
In addition to its WiFi controller, the Shanling M3X Walkman also features a Bluetooth module for easy use with wireless headphones or earphones. Support for Bluetooth aptX HD, LDAC and LHDC codecs ensures high-speed transmission, maximizing the precision of wireless listening. The Shanling M3X balader is therefore naturally Hi-Res Audio Wireless certified. The Shanling M3X balader's Bluetooth controller can also be used as a receiver to receive all your music streams from a smartphone or tablet, for example.
Lightweight and robust, the Shanling M3X audiophile player features an aluminum chassis housing a large 4.2" diagonal touchscreen with 768x1280 pixel resolution. It facilitates access to settings, applications and navigation of your music library. These can be stored in the Shanling M3X's 32 GB internal memory or on an external micro SD card.
The Shanling M3X is powered by a lithium-polymer battery offering up to 23 hours of autonomy when used with the unbalanced output, or 20 hours with the balanced output. So it's ready to accompany you all day long, wherever you go. The battery is quickly recharged via the USB-C port on the underside of the player. This input can also be used to connect the Shanling M3X to a Windows or Mac computer for use as a USB DAC.
