DescriptionEvolution of the TD160, this high-end 160B MKII version of the Swiss firm is equipped with an ADC ALT1 arm, comparable to the LINN arms. It is a vintage arm from the 70's, which provides excellent dynamics with subtlety where the music demands it.
This turntable is in perfect condition, renovated, improved with the respect of the techniques and the aesthetics of the time (this model dates 1977).
The baseboard of the plate is made of wood, thickness = 25 mm, veneered with tropical okoumé wood and treated with 5 layers of varnish. The bottom of the plate is made of 16 mm thick medium. The metal frame and the suspended counter plate are treated with a self-adhesive bitumen damping material to eliminate residual resonance. The turntable rests on 4 aluminum feet.
The motor is cleaned and oiled. The platter bearing is cleaned and the oil changed. The ADC ALT-1 arm has precise settings, it is equipped with an Audio-Technica AT11E cell, made in Japan, the diamond is new.
The custom hood is new. The belt is new. The black felt cover is new. The RCA connectors are new, they allow to use the cable of your choice, the ground plug is separated, its cable is provided.
All the adjustments are done: springs adjustment, horizontality, cell alignment.
The listening is at the height of such a turntable. The association ADC / Audio-Technica works wonderfully. A restitution superior to many current turntables.
